Promoting Participation in the National Immunisation Program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge to be applied in their day-to-day work and will help support a change of practice within their health organisation. By encouraging colleagues and peers to modify and change their current ways of practice they can make immunisation activities more conducive to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

The course has been designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of how to communicate with and support change of practice within their workplace, encouraging colleagues and peers to support practices to be changed or modified and make immunisation activities more conducive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
On completion of the course students will have the skills and knowledge to work directly with patients, clients, families and communities to provide advice and encouragement to ultimately improve immunisation rates for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

All materials are delivered online, via the learning management platform ‘accessIQ’ . Included are all the learning materials.
There are no associated formal assessments with this course. All learning is completed online with real time learning feedback provided via theory questions covering essential knowledge and skills. This style of feedback is known as a ‘formative assessment’, a self-marking process that provides immediate results and feedback.
Becoming an effective communicator in healthcare is critical to ensuring we deliver good advice and therefore health outcomes to patients, families, and communities. The course provides a deeper understanding of how to encourage immunisation activity to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
